I bet you can’t say that title 10 times fast! After posting the picture of my clean eating, sugar free carrot cake with whipped cream cheese frosting on social media yesterday, I have been getting a ton of requests for the recipe. I have to say hands down, this is one of the best clean eating treats I have ever had as I approach my one year anniversary of clean eating in April. The carrot cake is super moist and flavorful and the whipped cream cheese frosting is up there with Starbucks’ whipped cream (just a heads up this frosting is more whipped cream like vs. thick frosting like – but just as delicious). Without further ado, I present the recipe from one of my favorite clean eating cookbooks: 100 Days of Real Food
I have been working out with The Tracy Anderson Method for six years now. Not only do I enjoy her workouts, but it is one of the hardest, full body, yet low impact workouts I have ever done. Yup, I just said enjoy and workout in the same sentence. Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t the only workout I do. I like to mix up my workouts and keep my body guessing. But when I’m in a workout rut or go through a period of not wanting to work out or have reached my maximum acceptance point of flabbiness or get sick of the gym scene, in goes the Tracy Anderson DVD’s. My absolute favorite part of her workouts is that I can do these workouts in my living room. No need to waste 35 minutes commuting to and from the gym. I’m a pretty lazy girl for not being lazy. It’s very conflicting – don’t ask.
In a breakfast rut? Eating the same dang thing for b-fast everyday and want something new and super delicious? I have to start off with a confession: I am over the top obsessed with acai bowls. I love smoothies but I hate “drinking” my breakfast. It just doesn’t seem as satisfying and filling. In comes acai bowls – basically a smoothie in a bowl with granola and extra fruit on top. Straight up genius. Now why didn’t I think of that?
As a lifestyle blogger, social media addict and diehard texter, I need my phone… a lot. The struggle: Being a busy body and working a full time job, I never have my phone on alert and it is always in my purse so therefore, I miss phone calls (important ones too!) and texts like nobody’s business.
Want a way to spice of your work week and those drab gray cubicle walls without having to buy a $500 Beyonce power suit? Every once in a while I like to rock a new statement piece to work. It somehow makes me feel energized and spices up my sometimes mundane weekly routine. I truly believe that by looking and feeling your best, you tend to elude happiness, confidence, poise, and the list goes on and on. Do not under estimate the power of a fabulous stiletto or slimming pencil skirt!
One of my new year’s resolutions this year was to pick a new inspirational quote every Monday and focus on it for that entire week. I decided to do this as a way for me to stay focused on what is important, gain new perspectives, and improve my overall wellbeing. With 9 weeks into the year – so far so good. I thought my blog would not only be a perfect opportunity to document my Motivational Monday’s, but also provide an opportunity to inspire and encourage my blog readers. It’s all about helping each other out – right?!
Upon returning from my fourth trip to Kauai this morning, I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to share my Top 10 things to do on the Garden Isle. Before I get started on the Top 10 list, I must provide a warning: Do not go to Kauai without The Ultimate Kauai Guidebook: Kauai Revealed (or as I call it – the blue book). Your trip will not be as great. I promise you this.
